a year later... Little Miss Kate... {Melbourne Family Photographer}

I first photographed little Miss Kate when she was only a week old... how quickly a year passes... well, actually, a little over a year, but it's still flown by far too quickly.

Kate is baby Hugo's cousin and she was one of the first newborn's I photographed as part of my business. She taught me a lot in that session, and it was a delight to run around and play all those fun toddler games with her now that she's hard to keep still.

I do love this age in a child, everything is a new discovery, and every new discovery is met with wonder. The whole world is out there for the taking.

Enjoy. xo

Master Hugo ~ Sometimes being a brother is even better than being a superhero. {Melbourne Newborn Photographer}

It's been a season of boys, a season of twins, and this little guy is born into a family of both. Hugo has two big identical twin brothers, and is clearly the object of much pride and delight to them.

Hugo was a delightful little cherub to photograph, and the first subject shot on my brand new Nikon D800 that finally made it into the country. It was a session filled with thrills, as I was blown away with the quality of the camera, and the sweetness of this little guy.

I do love posing a sleeping, calm, quiet baby, but have begun to also snap a few shots with eye's open, and am seeing the cuteness in these as well. Little Hugo pulled out a few cheeky little grins for me as well, which was delightful to capture.

Enjoy. xo

Baby Boy Blue, Times Two {Melbourne Twin Newborn Photographer}

It would seem I have had a few multiples to photograph recently, just goes to show you "be careful what you wish for". I couldn't be happier though, I adore newborns so when there's twins, or even triplets (dare I wish for quads?) I love watching their interaction, even while they are so new to the outside world. To be able to create such artistry with these tiny little gifts, there's no job in the world I'd rather have.

Samuel and Oliver were gorgeous from the moment I saw them, let alone the first pose I put them in. Naturally it wasn't all peace and calm, but again, as they both calmed together I was in my element being able to perfect one of the ideas I'd had for a while. It was one of those moments where you know you've got the shot... and even sharing it with the besotted parents I knew this session was one of those that would bring about some pretty emotional reactions. To quote a friend "I cannot stop staring at it {the image}" and I have to say I feel the same.

This year is turning out to be a HUGE year for me and I am so grateful to have been so blessed to capture yet another stunning little bundle of twins.

Enjoy. xo

Fletcher ~ Aside from new babies, new mothers must be the most beautiful creatures on earth. {Melbourne Newborn Photographer}

The world is a small place, and being a photographer and meeting new people I seem reminded of it regularly.

Fletcher's mum contacted me via my friend and fellow photographer Elise from Elise Gow Photography. Elise had photographed not only Fletcher's big sister and brother, but also his parents wedding, but given Elise is about to meet her own new baby any day now (stay tuned for that newborn session) she referred the session on to me. Poor Elise, I know how hard it is to have to turn down a session. Luckily for me, I was blessed with a rather chilled and content little; or rather not so little 9lb baby boy to photograph.

Fletcher is clearly a very loved and sweet calm little guy, I guess he has to be with a bigger sister and brother to not only dote all over him but rough him up a little too.

I was able to use a couple of my new fluffy prop throw rugs and am in love with the green. I love the simplicity, there's no need to mess with the sweet cleanliness of a newborn, (despite being either wee'd or pooped on in just about every session. *giggle*) I like to let the image be all about the baby, even when a prop is used, its purpose is to feature the child.

Meet Fletcher.

Enjoy xo
